Q: What is the City Lights 5 k and who does it benefit?
The City Lights 5 k foot race is a run or walk held in conjunction with the City Lights Downtown Festival held the Saturday before Thanksgiving weekend. Santa normally comes out to start the race, give out candy canes to everyone and hand out the awards. The course is a fun, rolling romp in downtown Wichita Falls, partially on the parade route. The run is hosted by the Wichita Falls Streams and Valleys, The Wichita Falls Runners Club and several of the Hotter’N Hell folks. All profits from the event go to maintain the Wee-Chi-Tah Trail and other outdoor adventures! Come go for a run with us, it’ll be fun!!
New in 2017! 6 PM start time – we get to run on the parade route when it has folks waiting for the parade! It’s like we are the pre parade! FUN! Dress up, it’s going to be fun!
