About Us

Wichita Falls Streams & Valleys has been delivering results since we opened in 1998. Our goal is to provide both a superior customer experience and tremendous value for our community.

We love our community and welcome your feedback and suggestions. Use our Contact Us page to tell us what we’re doing right or what we can improve on.

What do I get for my entry fee – where does the money go – why should I care about the volunteers?

When you enter a Streams & Valleys event – the Wee-Chi-Tah Trail events,  – you get a well-organized event and you’ve support the Wee-Chi-Tah Trail, the Wichita Falls Circle Trail, the Wichita Falls Parks Department, the Midwestern State University Track and Cross Country Team, Wee-Chi-Tah BMX track and Berends Landing.

Normally you will receive at least one bib number, shirt and finisher medal, some of the events give out finisher shirts as well.  Most events you will have the opportunity to win an age group medal.  If you win overall or masters you will get additional prizes for most events.  Rest stops with drinks and snacks, signs along the trail, porta pots and a finish time.  We have to pay to reserve parks, we buy event insurance, and some of the courses are certified.  We advertise on Facebook and in several running and biking magazines.  Sometimes we buy TV ads. Everything we give you, we have to buy.  When a sponsor gives us things, we give it out as swag, we prefer cash to buy all the things we give you and provide you with.

We have to pay to have the carpet cleaned at the clubhouse after big events when people spill things. We spend weeks prepping and marking the course using gas in the RTV’s, tractor and chain saws. Equipment breaks, we pay to have it fixed. We build fun things on the dirt trail, we buy dirt, wood, bolts and everything else you see on the trial. Sometimes we have to rent large equipment to improve the trail. All our work is by volunteers. Profit goes back to the community to the groups listed above.

What do the volunteers get for hours and hours of hard work?  We hope that you thank several of them!  They have given up their time to make sure you can have fun. It’s true that they love the dirt trail and all other things Streams & Valleys, they know this is how we support all those things, but they could be participating in the event or at home with their family.  They choose to stand in the heat/cold/rain/sleet so you can have fun.  Please thank them!

Do you live in the Wichita Falls area; want to help?  send me an email and I’ll add you to the email list.
